App Base – Manual

Help right on the screen

The question mark in the top bar opens help for the screen you are on. It shows what you can do here — tap a step and the app does it for you. A step that is not possible right now is shown together with the reason.

Instead of typing you can tap the microphone in the question field and ask out loud — you speak the app's language and the phone does the recognition.

You can type your own question in the field at the top. As you type, the app searches this manual and shows the sections that mention it — tap one and the manual opens right at that place. Accents are ignored and the beginning of a word is enough: "lang" finds "Language".

App tour

On the first run the app walks you through it: the screen dims, one spot is highlighted and you read what it is for. Next moves on, Skip ends the tour.

You can run it again any time from Settings -> Show the tour again.

Settings

Appearance

Light, dark, or follow the phone. Black (OLED) is dark with a pure black background — it saves battery on OLED screens and is easier on the eyes at night. The change applies immediately.

App language

The app asks on first launch; later you can change the language in Settings. Your data stays as it is.

AI help

In Settings -> AI help you can let a language model advise you. The app needs your own key to one of the services (Google Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter) - create it on their page, paste it into Settings and it stays encrypted on your phone.

When the model is off or cannot be reached, the app advises on its own from what is on the screen. So you always get help, even without the internet.

What is sent to the service: the screen description (title, purpose, which actions are possible and which are not), a snippet of the manual matching your question, and the question itself. The content you store in the app is not sent.

When something does not work

Shake the phone

A bug report opens with a screenshot and your last steps in the app. Describe what happened and share it with whoever you choose. Nothing is sent on its own.

You can turn shaking off in Settings → Diagnostics. The report also opens with the "Report a bug now" button.

Automatic crash reports

When the app crashes, it can send a technical record of the error — only if you allow it. It includes a random installation code so the reports can be deleted on request (you will find it in Settings). No screenshot, no form content, no passwords and no IP address. You can change your consent in Settings at any time.

Deleting reports

Settings shows your installation ID. All your reports can be found and deleted by it — you send the request by e-mail right from the app.

Updates

It depends on where you got the app:

When installing from the download page, Android first asks whether you allow the app to install updates. With each new version, Play Protect may also offer a scan — the app is not from Google Play, so Google does not know it yet. Continue by installing without scanning. You always confirm the installation yourself; nothing is installed silently.

FAQ

Does the app need the internet?

Not for everyday use. The internet is only needed to check for updates and to send reports, if you allow it.

Where do I find the app version?

Settings → About. The version matters when reporting a bug — it shows whether the bug is not already fixed in a newer version.
