Privacy Policy – App Base
App cz.pkomarek.appbase · Last updated: 24 September 2026
Who processes the data
Petr Komárek (individual, Czech Republic), contact: info@optador.com.
What stays on your phone
Everything you create in the app stays on your phone. The app has no user accounts and does not upload your content to any server. Sensitive data is encrypted with a key from the Android Keystore.
- Settings (language, colour scheme, etc.) are stored on the phone. If Android backup is on, the system backs them up to your Google account – the app does not. The encrypted secret store and unsent bug reports are excluded from backup.
- Fingerprint and face are verified by Android itself. The app only receives "verified / not verified", never biometric data.
- The recovery code is saved to your password manager only after you confirm it; where it is stored is up to the password manager you use.
What leaves your phone, and when
Automatic crash reports (only with your consent)
Nothing is sent without your consent. The app asks on first launch; until you agree, reporting is not even started. You can change your choice any time in Settings → Diagnostics, and turning it off stops reporting immediately.
With consent, a crash sends:
- the error stack trace and technical events just before the crash (app start, going to background, connectivity changes, battery state),
- app version, phone model and Android version,
- an installation code – a random number created on the phone, not linked to you, gone after uninstalling. Its only purpose is to find your reports if you ask for deletion.
Screenshots and personal details (name, e-mail, IP address) are never sent automatically.
Bug reports and suggestions you send yourself
You start a report by shaking the phone or after a crash. Before sending, the app tells you what the report contains:
- the text you write,
- a screenshot. No screenshot is ever attached from a protected screen, and the app tells you when that happens,
- recent steps in the app, a technical log, phone model, Android version and connection type.
If crash reporting is on, the report goes straight to Sentry (below). Otherwise you can send it with an app of your choice, e.g. by e-mail. Passwords and keys are never written into a report.
Where reports go
Crash reports and user reports are processed by Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) solely on my instructions. They are stored in Sentry's EU region (Germany) and deleted automatically after 30 days. I use them only to fix bugs and improve the app. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
AI help (optional, with your own key)
It is off by default and the app has no AI key of its own. If you turn it on in Settings and enter your own key, each help question sends the question text and a few related chapters of the app manual to the service you chose:
Data goes directly from your phone to that service under your own agreement with it; I never see it. The key is stored encrypted on the phone and sent only to the service it belongs to.
Dictation
When you dictate a question, speech is converted by Android's speech recognition (usually Google). The app never receives or stores the recording – only the resulting text.
Update check (only the version downloaded outside Google Play)
The version downloaded from the website fetches a small file with the latest version number once a day. Nothing about you or your phone is sent; the server only sees an IP address, as with any web page. The Google Play version does not do this – Google Play handles updates.
Permissions
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Internet, network state | crash and user reports (with consent only), AI help (only if you enable it), update check in the non-Play version |
| Notifications | notice of a finished task; the app works without it |
| Biometrics | unlocking the app with fingerprint or face, if you enable it |
| Install apps | non-Play version only: installing a downloaded update, always confirmed by you |
How to request deletion
In Settings → Diagnostics tap Request deletion of my reports. The app prepares an e-mail with your installation code so I can find your reports. I delete them within 30 days and confirm it. You can also write directly to info@optador.com, but without the installation code I cannot tell which reports are yours, as I hold no other data about you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object. You can withdraw consent any time in Settings. Data on the phone is deleted by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it. You may lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (uoou.gov.cz).
Children
The app is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
